SSPP Residential School

The school provides free and quality education which is sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.

The school provides free uniforms and books for its students whenever necessary. The school is fully funded and does not require payment of fees. It also has adequate teaching aids to assist teachers in facilitating education.

The SSPP Residential School has a total strength of 500 students, with adequate and efficient teaching and non-teaching staff. The Headmaster/Headmistress is the head of the school administration who is assisted by the teaching and non-teaching staff. The school has five departmental divisions for efficacy and smooth functioning viz., Discipline, Examination, Games & Sports, Medicare and Refreshment. The school provides education till the 10th standard and is recognized under Board of Secondary Education Manipur. Admission procedure includes submission of application form, written test and interview. Even if these procedure clearances are necessary, students are also selected by giving preference to orphans and the poor.

The school is managed by a committee known as ‘School Managing Committee’ set up by the GHQ Executive Committee for a term of two years. The School Management Committee comprises of Chairman, Secretary, Finance Secretary and four other members with the President and General Secretary of SSPP GHQ as Ex-officio members. It is responsible for catering to the overall governance of the school and deals directly with the funding agency. The Committee looks after the financial and administrative matters of the school and is mandated to submit annual reports to the Government i.e., the funding agency. Internally, the Committee is accountable to the Standing Committee which may require its activity and financial reports as deemed necessary.

SSPP has hostel facilities which housed students with no proper and definite place to stay during their course of studies. The hostel situated at Nghathal has the capacity for a separate accommodation for both boys and girls. The hostellers are supervised by two- male and female - wardens who help maintain discipline, guide hostellers in their studies and ensure proper time management.
